Tell it what you actually have.
List your main ingredients and quantities where possible. “Oats, dates, milk, and two eggs” gives more context than “make me breakfast.” Include whether you want one serving or enough for the family.
Add your time and equipment.
Mention your available cooking time and equipment. A weekday breakfast in 15 minutes needs a different idea from a weekend meal with an oven and a full hour to cook.
State your preferences clearly.
You can mention dietary preferences and ingredients you wish to avoid. Always inspect the generated recipe yourself, particularly if you have allergies or a medically prescribed diet. AI does not independently verify ingredient safety or halal certification.
An example of a helpful prompt.
“Suggest a breakfast for two using oats, dates, and milk. I have 15 minutes and a stovetop. Avoid nuts and include an estimated preparation time.” This is an illustrative prompt, not a tested recipe.
Read the result with a cook’s judgment.
Check ingredient quantities, cooking methods, temperatures, and any nutritional estimates. If a religious reference is included, read its original source rather than treating generated wording as a scholarly ruling.
